A Haunting Reality

Yesterday when we watched the video of the soldier, I started thinking of what life would be like in war. The soldier looked really dirty and tough in the pictures, but when he got home he looked really sad and weak. It got my really interested in it because in the video games war always looks like fun. If I ever went to war, it would be a really terrifying experience, especially going to a place like Falloujah, in Iraq, because it’s like a desert. I think Blake Miller was a brave man to go into the military and fight for the rest of the U.S. freedom.

I would like to go to the U.S. National Guard, but im unsure if its something i really want to do, or just an idea. I really like the idea of fighting for your country and giving back, but sometimes it changes you in a wierd way. It kind of changes who you are. The benefits are really cool, they give you scholarships and pay for college. That might be a big factor in why im intrested in that, i dont have any other way that ill pay for college.

The video we watched was really inspiring, it was a small glimpse of what war is like when your a soldier. When Blake Miller said that when were young, we are taught to not kill people, that it is a bad thing, but when your in the military, it is your job. Killing people for a living sounds like something hard to do. Even if they are terrorists, i cant imagine pointing a gun at someone ready to shoot and take their lives away. After an experience like that it would be kind of hard to live with myself. I really like the courage Blake Miller had to go into the military.
